We took an alternative that was supposed to be way marked . A little sketchy on the markings along the way. We needed a combo of the route notes, map and compass - we made it work.
On the regular route we saw 8 walkers and nobody on the alternative. Once we rejoined the main route we saw another 5-6 walkers.
Lots of crosses along the route
The lonely sunflower
Break time and checking notes
Water fountain
Snacks and beverages awaited us at our nights lodging
Lauzerte is a medieval town from the 12th century.
Dinner was served family style. Fresh melon, vegetable tart, green salad , pork roast, cheese and figs, caramel pudding.
At our table were seven women. Good conversation and good food. Five of us are continuing on to St Jean Pied de Port.
Our host was terrific, very friendly, gave us a short cut out of town tomorrow that will avoid the uphill and downhill.
We are past the half way mark! we have come 230 miles and 213 miles to go.
